After working for 5 years with the long established business Fare Catering and Marquees Ltd. and seeing how good a WPTC©* and catering company can be I decided it was so good that I bought the company.

We undertake all events where a good temporary construction is required supplying marquees in almost any shape or style configuration that may be needed to make your particular function work. Remember - it's not only wet, cold weather protection when a marquee is required, but equally hot sun can spoil a party, wedding, corporate event or business promotion in the same way if shade is not available. Everything needed from heating and lighting, dance floors and staging to create the environment that's right for you.

We pay special attention to catering using the very best suppliers and offering a broad spread of menus from which to select just what you want for your event.

Why Ground Control?
When proprietor Ben Mayhew was 3 years old in 1972 his father, Robin, was 'front of house' sound engineer for the David Bowie / Ziggy Stardust phenomenon. Using the famous line from Bowie's song Space Oddity he formed a sound system rental company called Ground Control. Throughout the rest of the '70's and the early '80s the successful venture engineered and supplied sound rigs to many big named artists of the day. It is the perfect name for our marquee and event rental company as we cover, and thereby 'control', the very ground on which your function takes place.
